Sure you can. Like fhotoace said its in the lens. Use a lens with a wide aperature and a bit longer focal length. Remember one third of the area in focus will be in front of the focal point and 2.3 behind so having some distance between your subject and the background also helps.
Or if money is not an issue Nikon makes a lens escpecially designed to increase bokeh ( the AF DC-NIKKOR 105mm f/2D or AF DC-NIKKOR 135mm f/2D )

As others have told you, the Nikon D80 or any DSLR with the right lens is capable of producing shallow depth of field (bokeh). In other words, bokeh can be produced by many cameras not just the Nikon D80.
Lenses capable of producing bokeh are 50mm or greater, and a large aperature lens of at least f2.8. A long focal length are more important factor than f-stops. (200mm f 2.8 is better than 50mm f 1.8 at producing bokeh)
My best lens for bokeh is my 80-200 f2.8, followed by 85 f 1.8 and 50 f1.8.
Finally, good bokeh is soft and silky. The blur circles are round with soft edges not polygons or the worst doughnut shaped.

Bokeh has noting to do with the camera. The D80 uses lenses that are capable of producing excellent Bokeh
